FRESH LOGISTICS POLSKA WITH NEW WAREHOUSES

2020.11.09

Pursuing its policy of continuous improvement, Fresh Logistics Polska has invested in modern warehouses in Wojanowo and Nowa Wieś Wrocławska with a total area of 16,000 m2. After the completion of the expansion project, the company has a total warehouse capacity of over 55,000 m2 dedicated to the storage of food products which require controlled temperature.

The distribution centre in Wojanowo, located in the north of Poland, has 2,858 m2 of cross-docking area and as much as 7,448 mof high-storage warehouse, which can accommodate 12,840 pallets. The warehouse has been divided into four chambers with different temperature ranges, which allow for storage of goods which require different thermal conditions, from 0°C to +15°C, and for providing additional services such as co-packing or labelling.

In order to minimize the environmental risk, the company invested in a highly efficient and low energy cooling system based on minimal amounts of ammonia and glycol. In addition, heat energy is recovered from the cooling system for the process of defrosting the cooling towers. The installation monitors the operations and condition of the equipment by means of IT systems, thus guaranteeing the right temperature and, most importantly, safety of the stored food products.

The warehouse is equipped with the latest fire protection solutions and energy-saving LED lighting, including motion detectors as well as emergency evacuation lights. The efficiency of storage processes is supported by lithium-ion-battery-powered forklifts adapted to the harsh conditions of a refrigerated warehouse. Thanks to their long battery life, they are very efficient and guarantee better loading capacity, and since they don’t require the battery charging station, warehouse capacity can be used in a more optimal way. Modern forklifts powered by lithium-ion batteries mean lower energy consumption so not only financial benefits, but above all care for the environment. Another interesting solution is the use of electronic chocks at warehouse ramps to ensure safety during unloading and loading operations.

The proximity of the Tri-City ports and their dynamic development makes the new distribution centre in Wojanowo near Gdańsk a convenient place for all container vessel handling operations. Fresh Logistics Polska offers this type of services both in controlled temperature, from 0°C to +6°C, and in ambient temperature.

“Fresh food logistics requires continuous investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure since only such infrastructure can ensure the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Operating systems dedicated to the management of the warehouse, additional services and transport, as well as their integration means that our company offers the customers comprehensive and safe logistics solutions.” - comments Remigiusz Muller, Regional Operations Director, Fresh Logistics Polska and he adds: “A culture of continuous improvement is inscribed in our company DNA. Thanks to the new investments, we are building a competitive advantage not only for our company but also for our customers. Modern warehouse solutions allow us and our partners to optimize processes in the supply chain and thus reduce the costs of logistics operations.

The second investment of Fresh Logistics Polska is located in Prologis Park Wrocław V at the junction of A4 motorway and S8 expressway. The excellent location combined with modern infrastructure and warehouse management systems and a wide range of additional services such as co-packing, labelling or creating promotional sets opens up new possibilities for the company customers.

The distribution centre in Nowa Wieś Wrocławska is an innovative high storage warehouse, with the capacity of 3,500 m2 and controlled temperature from 0°C to +6°C, which can accommodate over 3,000 pallets. In order to extend the range of goods that can be stored in the warehouse, one of the chambers, the so-called “cold room” with an area of 400 m2, has been adapted to the storage of frozen goods. For customers who have food products that do not require controlled temperature in their portfolio, the company provides 1,836 pallet places in the so-called dry warehouse.

Concern for freshness and safety of food products calls for continuous development. New facilities, innovative storage and transport systems, paperless logistics based on electronic data interchange serve primarily the company customers and their consignees. They are a guarantee that the food products that reach the final consumers are fresh, safe and of the highest quality.
